Busy B?

Filed under: thoughts — Becky @ 7:30 pm

I’ve been so preoccupied with work that I really haven’t had a chance to update here in quite some time! The next month or so is going to continue on in that same vein so please don’t expect anything with any sort of regularity.

Work has been a challenging-headache-inducing-heart wrenching-belly laugh causing time! The residents come up with new thing everyday and I’m already seeing them begin to grow and come out of their shells.

Mo–you asked about my book reviews: I really haven’t read anything that isn’t work related in a month! I plan on going to the library this weekend and picking up something new so I will let you know how it turns out. I combined my review blog with this one, so it’ll be posted here when I write it up.

One for the birds…

Filed under: thoughts — Becky @ 9:23 pm

That’s what this week has been so far. I’m only working three days this week so everyone is feeling all disjointed and out of sorts on the AM’s that we have to be up by 545.

Work is going well though, met with several new clients today and seemed to really connect with them. We shall see when they go thru admissions next week.

I am also going to begin looking into a new line of therapy so that I can start a new group up at the center once we get enough clients to make it feasible.  Bibliotherapy. It combines my love of reading and reviewing novels with the recovery model that we use at the center. Most of the resources that I have seen online have been dealing with bibliotherapy and children so more extensive research is required in order to find something that deals with the issues our clients are facing (Mood-disorders, PTSD, Sexual Abuse, etc.)

That’s all for tonight, my newly washed sheets are calling my name.
